BERNARD D. “BERNIE” BYERS

DeGonia Springs, IN. – Bernard D. “Bernie” Byers, 78, of DeGonia Springs, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Bernard was born in Warrick County, Indiana on January 30, 1939 to the late Dewey Wesley and Nina Beatrice (Middleton) Byers.
Bernie was a member of Wayside Chapel Church in Chandler, Indiana. He worked for many years at UPS delivering in the local Boonville area and later retired from the Warrick County Highway Department. Bernie loved hunting, wood crafting, playing the guitar, and his dog Sissy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Neva and Cama.
Bernie is survived by his wife, Toby Byers. Bernie is also survived by his children, Nina, Diane (Kevin), Bernie (Jennifer), Debi; grandchildren, Amy, Jessica, Brian, Adam, Kelsey, Logan, Ryan, Meghan, Caitlan; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Donnie, Wayne, Bobby, Donna; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana with Pastor Leon Hatchett officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Gentryville, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 2 P.M. on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
