Obituary for Brandon A. Mathies

Newburgh, IN. – Brandon A. Mathies, 43, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home in Newburgh.
Brandon was born on July 24, 1974 in Huntingburg, Indiana.
Brandon was a graduate of Boonville High School class of 1992 and was a member of the Boonville High School Football Team. He later attended USI majoring in art and psychology. Brandon was employed as a Project Supervisor/Manager for the State of Indiana Department of Transportation for 16 years and was employed as an Engineering Assistant for 5 years. Brandon enjoyed working with the players and parents as a coach for the Boonville Girls Fast Pitch Softball for 4 years. He was a loving father and caring person. He had a passion for art as a freelance artist and was an accomplished drummer.
He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Mathies; uncle and Godfather, Ernest Mathies; grandparents, Anthony and Irene Mathies, Cornelius and Gertrude Hulsman; uncles, Thomas and Kenneth Hulsman.
Brandon is survived by his daughters, Casie Mathies, Rilee King (Devin), Kalyn Mathies and her fiancée, Guadalupe; granddaughter, Evelia; brother, Warren Mathies (Ayse) and niece Asya, Sarah Long, Adam Long (Jaleigh) nephew Sam and niece Allie; mother, Rita Long (Anthony).
A private funeral service and interment will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Brandon to the Boonville High School Art Department at 300 North First Street, Boonville, Indiana 47601 or to a favorite charity
