Meet our Rider of Honor, Sam Richey.
Samuel “Sam” Richey lives in Rockport, Indiana with his wife, Valerie. He has two children, David Richey, who sadly passed away in 2022, and Angie Bevins, who lives in Rockport, along with several grandchildren.
Sam was born in Grandview, Indiana to George and Rena Richey, and is one of 11 children, 6 of which served in the United States Armed Forces.
Sam joined the Navy in 1963 and served as a Navy Sea Bee, receiving an honorable discharge in 1969. He served in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Gulf Port, Mississippi.
He now honors his fellow veterans as the Rider of Honor for our funeral homes.
